Mannheim Steamroller Returns to Boise September 28, 2007 Mannheim Steamroller Returns to Boise In addition to new music, Mannheim Steamroller will perform audience favorites from its six multi-platinum Christmas albums, in an extravagant multi-media event. To accompany its trademark sound and exhilarating music, Mannheim Steamroller creates a true Christmas wonderland inside the arena, complete with a 2,000 square foot Christmas Village and costumed characters. The audience is invited to bring cameras to capture all the sights and sounds of this family-friendly Christmas spectacular. With it’s unusual name, Mannheim Steamroller re-invented Christmas music as a serious business with its initial blockbuster release in 1984 Mannheim Steamroller Christmas. Since then, Mannheim Steamroller has rocketed to international acclaim with its exhilarating sound and rhythm, and is best known for its now-classic arrangements of “Silent Night”, “Deck the Halls”, and “Joy to the World”. Over the past two decades, the band has released five Christmas titles, including the band’s just-released CD Christmas Song. The new CD features tunes specially requested by a vote of the fans; “Let It Snow”, “Frosty the Snowman” and the title track “Christmas Song”, the correct title of the song often called “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire”. Christmas Song is now available everywhere.
