8:30 A.M. DOORS OPEN
10 A.M. COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
The celebration will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at approximately 12:30 p.m.
The ceremony will be a vibrant and intimate experience inside the arena, and the Student Union Building will house family friendly activities and viewing rooms so friends, families and supporters can all enjoy the most celebratory day on Boise State’s campus each year.
The event is expected to reach the arena’s capacity as Boise State continues to grow the number of students it graduates each year — the university has a set a new record for graduates in each of the past nine years. Each graduate will be allotted five tickets for the arena to ensure all students have the chance for their chosen friends and family to attend the ceremony in person. There will be no limit to access the festivities and viewing rooms in the SUB. Out-of-town friends, family and others also may view the ceremony online at BoiseState.edu.
The return to the arena was prompted by the prospect of inclement weather negatively impacting the experience, postponing the event or even cancelling it outright. The celebration is too important to so many graduates and the Boise State community to risk a cancellation.
This will be the final commencement ceremony for President Bob Kustra and Provost Martin Schimpf, who are both stepping away from their roles this summer.
Graduates will receive email updates on the ceremony and other details as the event nears.
12:30 P.M. RECEPTION
A reception for graduates and their guests will be held immediately following the ceremony in the Jordan Ball Room at the Student Union Building. Each college/school will have a designated area to meet family and friends.
